Robbie Burns Dinner
The Robbie Burns Dinner held at Bingemans on January 21st was organized by the "Spirited Tasting Society" with Neil Aitchison as the Master of Ceremonies. A celebration of the birthday of the famous Scottish poet Robbie Burns. The evening included a Scottish Piper formally piping in the Haggis followed by the "Address to the Haggis" as written by Robbie Burns. The toast to the Lasses, the reply, as well as the immortalization of Robbie Burns round out the speeches. Three scotch whiskey tastings accompany a four course meal. The event was completed with a live auction for St Mary's General Hospital Foundation. A great night out for those of Scottish descent or at least those that want to be for a night. Or, just a night out, to see men in Kilts.
